SACMI @ ProPak India 2025

SACMI @ ProPak India 2025

The spotlight is on major technological innovations relating to cap and preform presses. Top performance and productivity with versatility and low fuel consumption. Integrated vision systems and the new SMARTPACK™ digital controls are available across the entire machine range.

SACMI’s technological innovation will take centre stage at ProPak India 2025 - 14. D06 HALL 14. From 3 to 5 September at the Indian Expo Centre in Greater Noida (Delhi), the spotlight will be on the latest developments in cap and preform presses - designed to boost productivity while reducing consumption - alongside advanced quality and process control systems, all designed and manufactured by SACMI. The focus is on maximum integration, top performance, and long-term reliability.

CCM64MD: unmatched productivity, lower consumption

To date, there are over 80 SACMI CCM presses installed in India at the country’s leading players. Among the intrinsic advantages (recognised and appreciated by customers) are the lowest operating costs on the market, combined with technology that allows independent control of each cavity-mould. This enables total quality control directly on the line and at high speed. The most widely used model on the Indian market is the CCM48SC. This machine offers productivity up to 2,000 caps per minute with a minimum cycle time of approximately 1.44 seconds.
In line with international industry trends (high productivity, high cavitation), SACMI is also offering the opportunity in India to upgrade to the latest 64-mould models, among which the recently launched CCM64MD stands out. This model is the forerunner of a new generation of compression presses and moulds, capable of achieving the highest productivity levels ever while also reducing specific energy consumption.
In particular, with the CCM64MD, it is possible to achieve productivity of 2,850 caps per minute with just 64 moulds and a cycle time reduced to only 1.35 seconds. In this way, a single machine (171,000 caps per hour) can supply two high-capacity bottling lines, halving the required floor space for the same production output.
Moreover, compared to the previous generation, the CCM64MD delivers 50% higher productivity while reducing specific energy consumption by up to 15%. This confirms the greater sustainability and efficiency of the compression moulding process.
In combination with the original SACMI moulds, the press ensures the highest consistency in quality and long-term reliability. All the solutions are offered with integrated in-line CVS Computer Vision Systems for both process and product quality control.

IPS240 for 96-cavity moulds

IPS240 is SACMI's new solution, an evolution of the well-established IPS220 (the flagship of the SACMI preform press family) designed for ease of use, low energy consumption, and maximum versatility in format changeovers. Thanks to its increased tonnage, even the “smallest” of SACMI’s preform presses has been upgraded, allowing it to accommodate 96-cavity moulds with a 50x110 mm pitch.
Among its strengths is the original design of SACMI moulds, which, compared to alternative solutions on the market, accommodates a wide variety of necks, not only 26/22 and 25/22 mm, but also larger necks such as PCO1881 with a 33 mm neck support ring.
Thanks to electric actuation - with energy recovery both during mould closing and preform ejection - the IPS240 reduces energy consumption, ranking among the leading performers on the market. Another innovation is the adaptation of the IPS240 to include features already available on SACMI’s high-tonnage IPS presses: from mould interchangeability to the availability of exclusive COOL+ systems (air circulation within the mould to facilitate preform cooling, reducing cycle times and making preform ejection easier) and the FLOW+ hot runner. The latter stands out for increased uptime due to reduced maintenance, high precision in PET distribution, and full compatibility with most cold halves and presses available on the market.

SMARTPACK™: The New Generation of Digital Controls

Available across the entire range of SACMI cap and preform presses, SMARTPACK™ is SACMI’s exclusive solution for monitoring the key operating parameters of the machine (for example, on cap presses: dosing, hydraulic oil status, temperature control, moulds, etc.).
Here too, the opportunity lies in leveraging the vast amount of real-time data generated by the machines to support data-driven decisions, improving process quality in real time and making it easier for operators to manage the line.
Services also evolve digitally with SACMI, thanks to the SMARTCARE™ service, based on cloud computing technologies. Machines are connected to the IoT platform to monitor line performance over the medium to long term.

SACMI Rigid Packaging Lab at SACMI Engineering, Mumbai

Participation in ProPak India confirms SACMI’s role as a key technology partner for the local market. This is thanks to a complete and comprehensive offering that combines cutting-edge technology, automation, digitalisation, integrated process vision, consulting, and product development support.
In particular, with the inauguration in 2024 of the new Rigid Packaging Lab at the SACMI Engineering headquarters in Mumbai, SACMI has strengthened its presence in the Indian market by establishing a centre of excellence dedicated to product support and development services. The workshop serves as a point of reference for all Indian customers who rely on SACMI for the design of elegant, high-performance, and sustainable packaging.
