ADM cells for washbasins: GSI finishes the last mile of its journey towards full automation with SACMI

With the installation of digital printers for bar-code application, the cells can run without any need for an operator, eliminating the last operation performed manually up to now. The latest investment is part of the customer’s mission to achieve full automation, total tracking and 4.0 control of production flows.

GSI, Gruppo Sanitari Italia, achieves full automation of the ADM cells with SACMI. With the installation of new digital printers for the application of the bar-code on the pieces, the cells can now run completely unmanned.
Dedicated to the casting of large-sized heavy console washbasins, the ADM is designed to ensure maximum versatility when producing pieces with two-part moulds.  It is possible to run all the casting, demoulding, loading/unloading and automatic finishing operations without an operator.

The solution of the digital bar-code printer integrated with the ADM cells, makes the very last operation hitherto carried out manually, into an automatic process too. In this way another milestone has been reached in the sanitaryware industry’s journey towards the “lights out” factory, in perfect harmony with the customer’s vision in terms of attaining 4.0 management and total tracking of production.

GSI has been supplied with 7 digital printers, five of which have been integrated into the ADM solutions, already equipped with state-of-the-art SACMI automation technology, while the other printers will be integrated with the ALV and AVB solutions soon to be supplied to the customer, leading Italian manufacturer of quality design ceramics sanitaryware.
