New factory inaugurated on 16th December with start-up of roller kilns; latest milestone in the more than 30-year long partnership between SACMI-Riedhammer and leading international sanitaryware manufacturer Toto.
With SACMI-Riedhammer, Toto has “turned on” its new plant located in Dalian, in the north of China. This highly automated factory, a strategic part of Toto’s development plans, and entirely developed as a greenfield project, was officially opened on 16th December. Toto - founded in Japan in 1917 e today top global manufacturer in the sector - marked the occasion with a firing ceremony during which the burners of the new kilns were turned on.
Each having more than a century of history behind them, SACMI, Riedhammer and the Toto Group share many common traits including a well-consolidated leadership of the market for their products and technologies. Thanks to their recent collaboration, with the creation of the new factory at Dalian, Toto has reached another strategic milestone in its development plans in Asia.
Total automation is the key feature of the Dalian plant, where the new Riedhammer roller kilns are equipped with cutting edge systems for heat recovery as well as the EMS 400 energy management system; top of the Riedhammer range for reducing and optimizing energy consumption and emissions.
Although it is renowned in the industry for its ability to manufacture all the technology required for the production process by itself, Toto has nevertheless chosen to invest in Riedhammer’s industrial firing solutions for more than 30 years. There are currently 48 Riedhammer kilns operating in the various plants belonging to the Toto Group around the world, including roller, tunnel and intermittent kilns.
During the firing ceremony, the plant was turned on by the Toto team together with the SACMI-Riedhammer team. This gesture confirmed and symbolized the constant synergy which has characterized the relationship between the companies over the years, helping the Japanese multinational to accomplish its growth and development plans in global markets.
