2 new PHO451 presses complete with automatic finishing recently supplied. A second UPM-8 for foot polishing also purchased. Production capacity increased by 1000 pieces/hour of varied production mix.
Porser Porselen, the Turkish company with a long family tradition of ceramic craftmanship, recently made a leap in technology installing 2 new SACMI-SAMA PHO451 “GREEN” presses. Porser’s activities are centered on the manufacture of high-quality tableware which they sell all over the world. This includes their ID Fine brand that is renowned in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector and hugely successful on the market. The latest project sees Porser looking to the future and focusing on quality, productivity, automation and process repeatability.
With this investment decision Porser Porselen positions itself at the forefront of the Turkish market by favouring the choice of a reliable partner and cutting-edge technology. SACMI-SAMA’s PHO 451 is a latest-generation horizontal isostatic press designed to meet the most demanding customer requirements. Not only does this solution ensure maximum versatility in management of the production mix – plates, bowls and other round and non-round items – but it also guarantees the best possible quality and uniformity of the finished product, thanks to SAMA’s unrivalled isostatic pressing technology.
The mould filling system is another example of the solution’s excellent versatility; in the configuration supplied to Porser it can be operated either by compressed air, as with SAMA-developed technology, or by alternative systems such as vacuum filling. This offers maximum flexibility to use the different types of moulds available on the market and confirms SAMA’s unmatched technological leadership as supplier of both kinds of moulds.
The PHO 451 “GREEN” also breaks new ground from the point of view of sustainability since it has the lowest energy consumption on the market: up to -30% compared to conventional models. Each press supplied is served by RFM machines; the exclusive SAMA solution for automatic finishing of round items. The entire system will enable Porser Porselen to increase its production capacity to up to 1000 pieces per hour, depending on the size and type of piece.
In addition to the two presses and the automatic finishing system, the customer also purchased a second UPM-8, the well-known SACMI-SAMA foot polishing machine, confirming the validity of this solution, already a benchmark product on the Turkish market, with several recent supplies to the lead players in the sector.
The UPM-8 is a high-performance machine which can also be personalized to meet specific customer requirements. In fact, it can be set up with up to 4 polishing stations and can handle pieces of any shape, having diameters up to 400 mm and a height of 150mm. The polishing process is carried out wet. The UPM-8 can be adjusted in many ways to ensure all the work processes carried out on the pieces are fully optimized. Additional settings enable use of the entire width of the polishing belt, thus increasing its working life.
With this project, Porser has invested in quality, productivity, automation and process repeatability, choosing, in the shape of SAMA, the most reliable partner and cutting-edge German technology. The investment has further strengthened the working relationship between Porser Porselen and SAMA thanks to the reliability of the technology as well as the service guaranteed by SACMI’s Global Network, provided, in this case, from SACMI Istanbul.
