A new control system that redesigns and optimizes in-factory routing and logistics has been implemented at the Chongqing facility. The number of SACMI-supplied vehicles at the Chinese plant rises to 24, making it a world leader in automated sanitaryware production
Duravit China continues to implement an investment plan aimed at doubling output at Chongqing. Launched in 2023 with an upgrade of the body preparation department, the project - which aims to take production to 2 million pieces per year - now reaches a further milestone with a doubling of the internal logistics capacity.
At the core of this expansion lies a new system that manages and controls routing of the SACMI-supplied laser-guided vehicles that handle the flow of articles from casting to glazing. Once installed, the new system was connected to the most recent section of the factory. The result: two interconnected, ‘interchangeable’ systems that optimize control of every stage of the process thanks to real-time data exchange.
What’s more, the number of SACMI-supplied laser-guided vehicles (LGV) - in what is one of the world’s most modern factories in terms of automation and 4.0 production flow and factory logistics control - has risen to 24. A sound investment, then, that combines the effectiveness of SACMI LaserMove with SACMI HERE supervision software, making sanitaryware production fully automated.
