Sanindusa doubles its large-size shower tray capacity with SACMI

Full automation of workflows is the hallmark of this latest solution, now operational at the Aveiro plant, a renowned center of excellence for Fine Fire Clay production

Sanindusa has doubled the capacity of its shower tray plant at the Aveiro site. These outstanding articles deliver size (up to 1,400x900 mm), low thickness and innovative design: characteristics that are increasingly in demand, making Sanindusa one of the leading European players in this segment.

The ‘star’ of this new line is the SACMI ADS 150 casting machine, equipped with a robot and a fully automatic casting cell configured for productivity as high as 14 pieces per hour (300 pieces per day).
The supplied robot can handle wrist loads of up to 240 kg and performs an all-round set of tasks: live tool changeovers to tackle the different processing stages, delivery to the worker for finishing, loading onto multi-tier high-capacity storage trolleys. The articles are then removed from the cell using laser-guided vehicles (LGV), making the workflow fully automatic.

In short, a process that maximizes ergonomics for the worker and automates every stage of the process. Like all latest-generation SACMI machines, the casting cell can be linked to the remote assistance service to obtain live support from a SACMI technician, directly from the Italian parent company.

In addition to doubling output capacity in this segment, this investment sees Sanindusa further enhance its Aveiro center of excellence, particularly in the production of Fine Fire Clay items (shower trays, washbasins, kitchen sinks, etc.), highlighting how this strategic partnership with the SACMI Group is playing a key role in Sanindusa’s growth plans.
