Investment plan progresses for leading manufacturer in the Italian sanitaryware sector. Brand new automatic syphon glazing machine for WCs recently installed with anthropomorphic robot. The result is a complete glazing-finishing “eco-system” for maximum quality with zero manual handling.
Ceramica Alice has confirmed its faith in SACMI RobotGlaze technology, completing a further stage of its investment plan towards complete automation of the glazing line. A new automatic syphon-glazing machine has just started running at the company’s factory in Civita Castellana. This innovative solution simplifies the process whilst guaranteeing optimum quality and repeatability of sanitaryware glazing.
The project involved installing an automatic station for glazing the inside of the WC, equipped with an anthropomorphic robot. The system guarantees perfect glazing quality in all areas of the WC, from the bowl to the flushing area, thus improving quality within a fully automatic process.
The solution is assisted by a loading/unloading system to handle the WCs and a robot to perform internal syphon glazing. The innovative process maximizes quality and repeatability of operations whilst eliminating manual handling. In fact, with SACMI RobotGlaze, the operator no longer comes into direct contact with the piece which, once transferred to the cell, is glazed by means of totally automatic operations.
Equipped with special spraying tools, which ensure perfect piece glazing, the robot performs its tasks according to recipes set up with programming software.
Improving quality and, at the same time, the working environment is a key objective for Ceramica Alice, which has also recently invested in RobotClean; SACMI’s much-in-demand automatic finishing solution. The result is a complete finishing-glazing “eco-system” designed to achieve maximum efficiency, factory environment sustainability and better quality of the finished piece.
As with previous supplies, the cell installed has been programmed to interface with the customer’s factory supervisor, to enable prompt and accurate tracking of all operations carried out on the piece, data recording, real-time generation of quality statistics and monitoring of performance indices.
