The company will soon be back in the spotlight at the Nuremberg fair (23-25 September, NürnbergMesse) with versatile, automated primary and secondary packaging technologies that deliver sustainable, high-performance packaging
SACMI Packaging & Chocolate's primary and secondary packaging technologies will soon be on show at FACHPACK, the annual fair to be held at the NürnbergMesse exhibition centre in Nuremberg from 23 to 25 September. A key Central European packaging event, Fachpack offers us a strategic opportunity to meet customers and showcase the latest high-performance, sustainable packaging innovations.
Primary packaging: versatility and cutting-edge performance, also with new wrapping materials
In primary packaging, the focus will be on flowpack and vertical packaging solutions. With the former, visitors can look forward to seeing the JT Advance, which combines market-leading productivity (up to 150 meters of film per minute) with quick changeovers and simplified maintenance.
On the one hand, the machine has innovative ergonomics and hygienic design, with special features that limit material build-up and streamline the operator’s work. On the other hand, JT Advance embodies SACMI Packaging & Chocolate's matchless expertise in new eco-sustainable packaging materials such as paper-based reels: electronic control ensures precise yet gentle movement, smoothly adapting to any type of product or packaging material.
Remaining on the topic of primary packaging, the star of this German exhibition will be the VPS40C vertical packaging machine: robust, reliable and faster than anything else on the market. With speeds of up to 120 packs per minute, the VPS40C's strength lies, once again, in its flexible handling of wrapping materials such as compostable films, monolayer materials, barrier paper, polypropylene and sustainable laminates. The ability to support different packaging styles – from classic pillow to stabilo – lets manufacturers adapt to the requirements of even the most demanding brands.
TF12 “Small”: a perfect combination of compactness and performance
For the secondary packaging sector, SACMI Packaging & Chocolate will display the TF12 ‘Small’ tray former, designed to form open boxes, platforms and corrugated cardboard citrus fruit trays; the set-up on show at the fair is specifically for the food industry. This extremely compact machine can handle a broad range of sizes, from small formats to standard-size boxes, with output rates of up to 40 trays per minute.
Based on the successful TF12 (it retains the same components and basic design), the TF12 ‘Small’ deftly balances compactness and performance to meet the burgeoning need for versatility in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector and the wider food industry.
As on the TF12, optimized design is accompanied by outstanding format versatility (simple trays, open-top trays, trays with upper containment flaps) and easy adjustment for fast format changeovers. And that’s not all: sharing components with the TF12 simplifies management and maintenance. Moreover, all the machines in the TF range are available with a stacker or a tilted conveyor belt to further optimize use of packaging line space and enhance efficiency.
Neuhausen am Rheinfall – Technology lab and technical assistance
Sustainability - that is, the goal of lessening the impact of packaging on the environment and communities - is the cornerstone of the SACMI Packaging & Chocolate value proposition on show at Fachpack 2025. As SACMI Packaging & Chocolate sees it, sustainability involves everything: from compatibility with new materials to lower consumption and better workplace conditions. Close teamwork with customers and the availability of suitable research facilities play a key role in achieving these goals.
For example, the Neuhausen am Rheinfall site is the SACMI Packaging & Chocolate hub for business and technical assistance services in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) area and for R&D into new sustainable packaging technologies; facilities include a test area that customers can use to try out new packaging solutions on their products.
