HISTÓRICO SATURNIA

Desde as primeiras prensas isostáticas, em produção desde a década de 1990 até as novas linhas dedicadas à produção de itens complexos, até a revolução da decoração digital, na qual a foi pioneira absoluta no mercado italiano, cada nova solução instalada na fábrica de Corchiano marcou uma nova era em termos de flexibilidade, qualidade e produtividade.
A atenção constante dedicada aos aspectos técnicos e estéticos dos produtos, na Saturnia, se traduz em uma estratégia industrial precisa que acompanhou todas as fases da evolução das tecnologias de modelagem, decoração, cozedura das louças, com uma atenção especial dedicada à eficiência da fábrica e melhoria das condições de trabalho.

Com um total de 12 prensas isostáticas instaladas, desde os primeiros modelos LPP de cabeçote simples e duplo até a PHO 451 de última geração, a Saturnia reconheceu a tecnologia de prensagem isostática SAMA-SACMI para qualidade superior e flexibilidade no gerenciamento de cada tipo de produção, em particular para a oportunidade de gerenciar, nos níveis máximos de qualidade e eficiência, a produção de itens complexos como as formas irregulares ou não circulares. 
Um ponto de virada em 2017, quando a Saturnia escolhe, entre as primeiras no mercado, os novos modelos de prensa isostática SAMA da “série verde”, caracterizados pelos consumos reduzidos em mais de 30% em relação à geração anterior, uma necessidade menos de água de refrigeração, além do desempenho ainda melhor no gerenciamento de formas especiais (itens redondos, ovais, retangulares ou quadrados com até 400 mm de diâmetro).

This is the first time such technology has been applied to the tableware sector. It replaces decals and third firing, saving both time and money; simultaneously, it enables just-in-time decoration, heightens creativity and helps customers develop their brand image as desired thanks to the vast scope for customization. Digital decoration is a key element of Saturnia's business model, as it allows decorated samples to be prepared quickly and, therefore, personalized products to be offered to customers with a shorter lead time.

SACMI Forni roller kilns for glazed articles have been in operation at Saturnia since the early 2000s as part of the company’s strategy of raising output capacity at every stage and, therefore, enhancing its market penetration capabilities.
One of the most recent challenges – in part triggered by a tightening of industry regulations – involved the installation of a latest-generation air filtration system to eliminate dust inside the factory. At its heart lies a modern 20,000 m³/h bag filter to extract dust from the ten SAMA presses and four spray-dried powder silos. Installed in 2025, this new system, which fully replaces the previous one, drastically reduces dust levels in the department and at the chimney, ensuring a healthier workplace that complies with EU limits on crystalline silica.

The technological developments of recent years highlight the soundness of Saturnia's strategy of concentrating on product quality, process efficiency and social-environmental responsibility.
The way forward is already clear: enhanced digitalization, further investment in green technologies, expansion of output capacity and an ever-sharper focus on customization and reducing the time-to-market. Achieving these goals will give Saturnia the capacity to respond proactively to new needs in the Ho.Re.Ca sector while maintaining the excellent aesthetic-functional standards that are the hallmarks of Italian-made porcelain.
