New glazing cell with SACMI-Gaiotto GA2000 robot supplied as part of far-reaching technological plant modernization plan towards full automation. The project consolidates the long-standing partnership with SACMI and recognizes the value of the Gaiotto solution, renowned around the world for reliability and performance.
Lead player in the “Made in Italy” design bathroom and sanitaryware sector, Ceramica Galassia has invested once more in SACMI robotized glazing. The supply of a glazing cell with new GA2000 SACMI-Gaiotto robot is the latest step in the customer’s challenging project for the technological modernization of the glazing department. The plan aims to increase production capacity and achieve all the process quality and repeatability advantages guaranteed by SACMI RobotGlaze.
The new glazing cell features automatic piece handling inside the cell. The pieces are moved by a handling robot which transfers them from one position to another according to the operations to be performed (glazing, foot cleaning, internal glazing, unloading).
The glazing robot supplied includes the exclusive SACMI Mass Control® system to keep temperature, viscosity, density and glaze delivery rates under control, thus reducing waste and optimizing glaze application to improve quality and repeatability. The booth is equipped with a dry filter system for recovery of the dry glaze, that can then be re-used in the process.
In line with 4.0 industry, the plant is equipped with systems for interconnectivity with the factory supervisor and is set up for integration with logistics automation and for connection to maintenance, diagnostics and remote-control systems.
